Privacy Policy for Motion Meter
Last updated: June 17, 2025
This Privacy Policy describes Our policies on the collection, use, and disclosure of your information when
you use the Motion Meter application (the "Service") and tells you about your privacy rights and how the law
protects you.
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy
Policy.
Summary of Our Privacy Promise
We built Motion Meter with your privacy as a top priority. Our promise to you is simple:
- No Accounts Needed: We do not require you to sign up, create an account, or provide
personal information like your name or email address.
- Your Location Data Stays on Your Device: Your GPS location, speed, distance, and trip
history are processed entirely on your device. We do not collect, store, or have access to this
data on our servers.
- You Are in Control: You can reset all your tracked data (distance, max speed, duration)
at any time within the app.
Definitions
- You means the individual using our Service.
- Company (referred to as either "We", "Us" or "Our") refers to
[Brainfluence Limited Developers], [Dhaka, Bangladesh].
- Application means the software program "Motion Meter".
- Personal Data is any information that relates to an identified or identifiable
individual. For this app, this is limited to your real-time geographic location.
- Usage Data refers to data collected automatically, such as your device type or app
interaction events.
- Device means any device that can access the Service, such as a cellphone or a digital
tablet.
Collecting and Using Your Personal Data
Types of Data Collected
1. Personal Data (Geographic Location)
To provide the core functionality of the Service, we require access to your device's location data. This is
the only Personal Data the app processes. This includes:
- Precise Geographic Location (GPS): Latitude, longitude, altitude, and accuracy.
- Motion Data: Speed, heading (direction of travel).
This data is accessed directly from your device's sensors and is used in real-time to power the features of
the speedometer. This data is never transmitted to our servers.
2. Usage Data (Non-Personal)
We may use third-party services like Google Analytics for Firebase to collect anonymous Usage Data to help us
understand how our app is being used and to improve it. This data is aggregated and cannot be used to
identify you personally. It may include:
- Device type and operating system version
- App version and interactions (e.g., which buttons are tapped)
- Country and language settings
- Crash reports
How We Use Your Data
We use the data for the following purposes:
- To Provide and Maintain our Service: We use your Location Data to
calculate and display your current speed, total distance, average speed, maximum speed, and trip
duration. This is the primary function of the Application.
- To Improve Our Service: We use anonymous Usage Data to identify bugs,
analyze feature popularity, and improve the user experience.
Data Storage and Retention
This is the most important part of our privacy commitment.
- On-Device Processing: All your Location Data and trip statistics
(distance, speed, duration) are processed and stored exclusively on your device.
- No Server Storage: We do not have servers that collect or store your
location history or any other Personal Data. When you reset your trip data in the app or uninstall the
app, it is permanently deleted from your device.
- Local Settings Storage: We use your device's local storage
(
SharedPreferences) to save your setting preferences, such as your chosen unit of
measurement (e.g., km/h). This information is also stored only on your device.
Disclosure of Your Information
Because we do not store your Personal Data, we do not share it. However, we use third-party service providers
for ads and analytics, which operate under their own privacy policies.
- Advertising Providers (e.g., Google AdMob): To keep the app free, we may display
advertisements. Our advertising partners may collect anonymous data, such as your device’s advertising
ID, to serve relevant ads. We do not share your specific location data or trip history with our
advertising partners. You can typically reset your advertising ID or opt out of
personalized advertising in your device's settings.
Legal Requirements
Under exceptional circumstances, we may be required to disclose information if required to do so by law or in
response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court in Bangladesh).
Your Privacy Rights
Given the nature of our app, your rights are straightforward:
- Right to Access and Delete: You have complete access to and control over your data
because it resides on your device. You can view it anytime in the app and delete it permanently by using
the "Reset" button.
- Right to Withdraw Consent: You can withdraw your consent for location tracking at any
time by revoking the location permission for the Motion Meter app in your device's system settings. If
you do so, the core functionality of the app will cease to work.
Children's Privacy
Our Service is not intended for anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personally
identifiable information.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update Our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new
Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy
Policy periodically.
